January Club

Happy New Year!!!

BRRRRR - it's cold outside, just means I have to craft inside!   For our January scrapbook club we will be using the stamp set Charming Chevrons.   You will notice how I used them on the three different layouts.   I love them because you can stamp them to match your papers and it depicts movement.    We will be using the following picture sizes:

1 - 4 x 6
1 - 6 x 4
1 - 3 1/2 x 3 1/2
2 - 3 x 3

REMEMBER, YOU CAN ALSO CLICK ON THE LAYOUT TO SEE A LARGER VERSION OF IT
You will see on this layout I put the chevrons on the left lower pennant.

In our idea book they even have this bling that can go on your chevrons.  Love that bling!

On this one I put the chevrons on the right side so it looks like the airplanes going up.
On this one I put the chevrons on the right side and I used my favorite washi tape as my bottom border.   I love washi tape!!

May Club

Well, I always say to myself each month, I'm going to get better at posting more of my layouts, but now it is May already and time for a club and.............I haven't posted anything since last club.   On a positive note, I did get about 10 layouts completed since last club.   Also, on a bright note, we won't be getting any more snowstorms for club.

We are going to focus on two techniques this month in club.   First, we will be using a 2" circle punch to create a scalloped border on the bottom and we will use the color ready wood accents on our layouts.

You can use 2 - 4 x 6 horizontal pictures and 2 - 4 x 6 vertical, or all 4 could be 4 x 6 vertical.   I have a few pictures of the layouts below.

REMEMBER - YOU CAN ALWAYS CLICK ON THE LAYOUT TO SEE A LARGER VERSION OF IT

Both sides of the layout
Close up of the wood accents.   I colored it with an ink pad and then stamped an image on it to match my paper.
Same layout but I used all vertical pictures and even put in an extra picture.  Also, I stamped on the butterfly wood accent.  The new dream pop paper that you can get for $10.00 with a $35.00 purchase.  Love it!
Another close up of a wood accent I used.  I colored it with an ink pad and then put a gem in the middle.

Here are a few close ups of the dream pop paper you can get for $10.00:

March Club Layouts and More

Hi everyone,
It's time once again for our every-other-month scrapbook club.   Last weekend I went with a good friend of mine to Archiver's and scrapbooked for over 10 hours.   We had lots of fun crafting, shopping and talking.   While we were there, I figured out our March layout.   We will be focusing on creating large pennants.   Once you pick out your colors it will go quick - I promise!

The layouts use 2 - 4 x 6 horizontal and 2 - 4 x 6 vertical pictures.   The layout below showcases our new Chantilly paper pack which fits well with the Easter pictures I did.  It is also perfect for those "girly" pictures you have.  Remember you can always click on the picture to see a larger version of it.

The next layout was done with Tommy.   At first I wasn't sure about the paper pack but now I'm in love with it!  It worked perfectly for a boat ride we went on with my brother's new boat.  It was a day to remember.   Also, it helps me take my mind off of winter - which I've had enough of!  I love the 1/2" zip strips that come on each patterned paper - it makes the perfect topper for the layouts.   I also added the canvas stickease that you can order with the paper pack.   LOVE IT!

Well, if anyone knows me well, I also take way TOO many pictures of each event so I had to do another layout of the boating experience.   You will notice all the different stickease I used.   Simple - but beautiful.

Beginning of summer/end of summer

Hi everyone,
Labor Day usually marks the end of summer so I thought I would do a layout that speaks to the beginning of summer.    Our summer began with strawberry picking at Barthel's in Mequon.   I can almost taste the strawberries now.

The layout is from our new "Make It from Your Heart" how-to book.    I, of course, adapted it to fit my needs.    It highlights all new artwork, technique ideas, color palettes in one easy reference.   Best of all it is only $7.95!!!

Much of today's trends is not using every square inch of your 12 x 12 layout so I thought I would give it a try.    I also did not matte my pictures which tends to be a trend I always do.

Okay, now that I posted this I just realized I stamped the wrong year!!!!!!    Nothing an embellishment can't fix.    I used our banner alphabet on the left and our journal tags underneath a picture.    Clean and simple!

Now off to change the year!

Calendar

One of my colleagues just recently had her first baby and I worked with two other teachers to assemble a calendar to chronicle her first year.   I had September - December.    I love the Close To My Heart Calendar because when the year is over you can use the layout page and the calendar portion of it as a scrapbook page for that month.   When I had our last child I put the calendar right above the baby-changing table (except mine wasn't a CTMH one).    This way I would remember to write things that happened that day or other major events.    Then, when I get around to scrapbooking more pages some day I will have a detailed account of all the "firsts."    If you'd like to learn more about the calendar please feel free to call or email me.

Last Easter Layout

Hi everyone,
Well.........I finally finished my last Easter layout from 2009.    This one will go in Paige's scrapbook because it showcases her.   I love how curious she was when she went egg hunting at her aunt's house and at Sendik's.    Her curiosity started way back then.

On this layout I used hidden journaling as I had a lot to say and many pictures.   I did not want to take up a whole spot for journaling.   I even made a mistake and had to use whiteout but it doesn't matter because it is going behind the mat.    When you use hidden journaling make sure you only adhere the three outer sides so you can slip your journling in.

One of my favorite paper packs Sophia which is now discontinued.

The hidden journaling.  I love CTMH products because they all match which makes it quicker and simpler
.

My baby is now 4 years old!   Where did that time go?

I had a sticker but it got lost in the patterned paper so I matted it and pop-dotted it.    Perfect!   Also, the rule of thumb is always to do your embellishments in groups of 3 so I added my two buttons.

Easter Again

The great thing about scrapbooking is that you can revisit moments again and again.   I am celebrating Easter all week long by doing Easter layouts.    Below I tried something new and used large circles in my layout.   I cut them out at 5" and 8" on my Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.    When I was done with the layout I felt something was missing.   I couldn't think of what to add so I went back to it the next day.   It then came to me - add buttons.   So.............as you can see I added many buttons that coordinated with the Lucy paper pack.   I feel it helped create  movement within my layout.    Since the left side of the page had a lot going on, I decided the right side should be simply stated.    The coordinating buttons and Lucy paper pack are all available on my website:   www.superscrapper.ctmh.com

Happy Easter
Following is a layout from our Close To My Heart's old level one paper packet.  It literally only took me about 40 minutes to do a 2-page layout.   It was from Easter 2009.    I am not a sequential scrapbooker by any means.  I look at a paper pack and then decide what pictures fit it.  I thought the bright colors screamed Easter.

Remember, if you are in any of my scrapbook clubs make a comment below the pictures and you will get a bingo square marked off.

Look for more posts to come!  Remember click on the picture to see a larger image of the layout.

Footloose Club

No, I'm not starting a Footloose club, but rather for scrapbook club I'm showing you the new Footloose paper pack.   Another winner of a paper pack!    This paperpack screams summer.   Don't we wish we had summer right now.    Well, since I have about 8 summers to scrapbook I can live in the memories of summer by using the Footloose paper pack.    For club, I will be demonstrating our new Baker's Twine which can be used for so many things.   I used them to embellish buttons as you will see further down.

For club we will be using:
3 - 4 x 4 pictures
1 - 4 x 6 vertical
2 - 4 x 6 horizontal

A close up of the left side page.  You will notice that I have a 1/2" border by my vertical picture.   That comes in the paper pack right on your 12 x 12 paper.  You just trim it off and use it however you'd like.    Three different styles per paper pack.  Love it!

A close up of the left side.  Again I am using the 1/2" border.

Lastly, a close up of the baker's twine that I used to embellish my buttons.    In addition, I used the Decor Journaling Spots.   If you know me well, I emphasize the importance of journaling your events.

Stella New Paper Pack

As soon as I saw this new paper pack I new I wanted to scrapbook our Vacation Bible School pictures which focused on the "jungle."     Below is a picture of the two-paged layout.   As always, I had lots of pictures that I wanted to include on one layout.

On the right side of the layout I added a hidden journaling tag by the giraffe.  I glued all three sides except the top in which I could insert my tag.    This then left more space for my pictures.
You will see that I used our color-ready chipboard letters.  I love these because I can color them to match my layout just by using a sponge our our inks.   Then, I wrapped our letters with our baker's twine which I absolutely LOVE!

New Paper Cruisin'

As soon as I saw this paper pack I knew what I wanted to scrapbook.   Last year, I took Dave to the Harley Davidson Museum.   We took some pictures of us on different motorcycles.  The colors and the background and texture paper worked perfectly.   I also am in love with the stickease.  They are foil images that you will see on my layout.

I of course have more paper left so I'm going to do a layout of my daughter Paige at a birthday bowling party she just attended.   This paper would be perfect for any trips you have also gone on.   Enjoy!

Below is my full page layout of both sides.   Remember you can click on picture to enlarge.

Now just the left side of the page - notice the foil images and the journal pocket from CTMH
A close up of the right side of the layout  (some day I'll find out how to take better pictures of my layouts)
