November club layout

Hi everyone,
This is the layout we are doing for November.   It requires (2) 4 x 6 horizontal pictures and (3) 3 x 3 pictures.    We are focusing on using the November stamp of the month and ribbons.    I think you will really like the November SOM because it has larger numbers which I know I don't even have in my collection.

Also, everyone in club will be receiving a little treat from me for being such great friends and customers.   Can't wait to see you on Friday!

Still need to add pictures to the below layout (have to develop them I guess!)  Look at the larger stamped numbers from November's SOM - love it!

The tag on the left is also from the SOM.

The chipboard pieces are from Moonlight's Dimensional Elements. (Remember you can click on the picture to see a larger version of it).

A close-up of the ribbon and the tag you can make.

Clearly the Best: The Stamp Behind The Mask (S01E08)

I love this technique and it is soooooooo easy.    I'm glad they have these refresher videos because I forgot all about the masking technique.

Stamp Sets for Club

Hi everyone,
Ladies in club look at the next post to see the layouts.

However, I wanted to show you the stamp sets we will be using for club as well.

Below is the DOUBLE stamp set you can get for only $5.00.    You will need to purchase only $35.00 in CTMH products to get this stamp set which is valued at $36.00!

In addition, we will use this Buttons, Bits and Bobs Flair stamp set.   All the buttons were cut with the new Artiste cartridge which makes it simple.

Club layouts

Hi everyone!
Below is the layout we are doing for September.  It comes from the Make It From the Heart book which gives you ideas for layouts and cards.   I love this layout because if you flip it around you have a totally different layout.   Therefore, your options for pictures are endless.

On the first layout I used (2) 5W x 3 H and (1) 4W x 6H.

Look at the two blue buttons on the bottom - we will be using the new button stamp set from the catalog.
If you look closely below you will see "life is good" which was from our special stamp set this month.

On the next layout, I flipped the layout and look how different it is!    I used 1 - 4 x 6W and (3) 5H x 3W pictures.
Left side:  Notice the button on the left and the "awesome" which is from the special stamp set you can purchase.

Beginning of summer/end of summer

Hi everyone,
Labor Day usually marks the end of summer so I thought I would do a layout that speaks to the beginning of summer.    Our summer began with strawberry picking at Barthel's in Mequon.   I can almost taste the strawberries now.

The layout is from our new "Make It from Your Heart" how-to book.    I, of course, adapted it to fit my needs.    It highlights all new artwork, technique ideas, color palettes in one easy reference.   Best of all it is only $7.95!!!

Much of today's trends is not using every square inch of your 12 x 12 layout so I thought I would give it a try.    I also did not matte my pictures which tends to be a trend I always do.

Okay, now that I posted this I just realized I stamped the wrong year!!!!!!    Nothing an embellishment can't fix.    I used our banner alphabet on the left and our journal tags underneath a picture.    Clean and simple!

Now off to change the year!

Stacy Julian - Importance of Scrapbooking

Please take a few minutes to sit back and watch this video of Stacy Julian's family.   It makes me want to scrapbook those everyday moments right now!

Stacy Julian, an inspirational leader in scrapbooking, spoke at the Close To My Heart Convention in Dallas last week.   I hope some day I can go to convention.   She showed this video and I guess there was not a dry eye in the house.   She spoke about how scrapbooking is about the people and not just the events.   "My message is that time moves so very fast and most of the time we do too. But, we can choose (with practice) to slow down and to savor simple everyday moments. We can pull out our cameras and take pictures and we can live with these pictures and let them work magical things inside of us. Doing so will make us more grateful, more content, more aware and more happy. There is so much that is overwhelming and challenging in life. Efforts to capture and share your memories should be neither."   I couldn't agree with her more.   I enjoy scrapbooking those moments all the time because it brings my memories alive once again.   I also followe her blog in case you are interested:  http://stacyjulian.com/blog/

July Club

Happy summer everyone!

Below are pictures of our July club layouts.    This is simple, quick and easy.   If you want bring extra paper along to do another layout.    I am featuring the scallop paper that we will be creating on the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge (I can't say enough good things about this cartridge) and we will also be embossing with our July Stamp of the Month.     The picture sizes are 3 - 4 x 6 horizontal and 3 - 4 x 6 vertical.    Please see below for additional comments.  I also journaled on both layouts below.  The journal on the zoo page is behind the 3rd picture on the left side.   I love hidden journaling!

You will cut a 11" scallop on the Cricut and then cut in half and use on both pages.

I love to use different embellishments.   The expired Zoo Pass was used as an embellishment.   Remember save all those little things because later they can become an embellishment.   Also the "You Make the World a Better Place" is part of the July SOM.   It is embossed and it was cut out on the Cricut Art Philosophy.   Simple and Easy!!!!

Here is another example that I did.  The journaling was done on the 2nd page using our tags.
I didn't have a 4 x 6 horizontal in the middle so I cropped it and added an embellishment.

This is the July SOM that is embossed and then I added some Baker's Twine.

Dotty Again

Hi everyone,
Here is another card I created using the Dotty paper pack that is only $5.00 until the end of May.   Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity.  First I cut this card on the Art Philosophy Cartridge by CTMH (love, love this cartridge).    Then I cut the Dotty green paper with the cartridge again.   The circle was cut with the cartridge as well.    It all went together very quickly.   Then I stamped my image.   Rubbed some glue over the whole image and sprinkled prisma glitter over that.   Tied some baker's twine on the end and there you have it!

May Club

Sorry a little late with the pictures but here is the layout we will be doing on Friday.    It involves random stamping with tone-on-tone ink.

Also, I tend to hang onto tags and other things from clothing.   While at the American Girl store we bought a T-shirt and it had the tag that is below on the left hand side.    Perfect embellishment.    Simple and easy!

To create the random stamped look on the dark pink paper (hollyhock) I used three different stamp sets and put them on one acrylic block.

Another Dotty Card

Dotty, Dotty, Dotty............

Here is a quick simple card using the Dotty Butterfly paper.  What I love is the look of stitching on the butterflies.   It is printed that way on the paper.   Then I matted it and used baker's twine.   Of course, I had to use some bling to make it stand out more.    Simple but classy.

Dotty Card

Hi everyone,
I'm having so much fun with our paper pack special "Dotty."   It has papers for everyone.    You can get 24 papers for just $5.00 when you spend $35.00 in Close To My Heart Product.     Below is a card I made with the Dotty pack.  The yellow dotted paper is the front of my card.  The butterflies were cut on the Art Philosophy cartridge by Close To My Heart.   I cut each one out twice and then pop-dotted the second one to give it depth.    (Each one is set on top of each pattern paper).  All of the paper is from the Dotty promotion.   Then of course I had to put some bling on each butterfly.    Love it!

Calendar

One of my colleagues just recently had her first baby and I worked with two other teachers to assemble a calendar to chronicle her first year.   I had September - December.    I love the Close To My Heart Calendar because when the year is over you can use the layout page and the calendar portion of it as a scrapbook page for that month.   When I had our last child I put the calendar right above the baby-changing table (except mine wasn't a CTMH one).    This way I would remember to write things that happened that day or other major events.    Then, when I get around to scrapbooking more pages some day I will have a detailed account of all the "firsts."    If you'd like to learn more about the calendar please feel free to call or email me.

Last Easter Layout

Hi everyone,
Well.........I finally finished my last Easter layout from 2009.    This one will go in Paige's scrapbook because it showcases her.   I love how curious she was when she went egg hunting at her aunt's house and at Sendik's.    Her curiosity started way back then.

On this layout I used hidden journaling as I had a lot to say and many pictures.   I did not want to take up a whole spot for journaling.   I even made a mistake and had to use whiteout but it doesn't matter because it is going behind the mat.    When you use hidden journaling make sure you only adhere the three outer sides so you can slip your journling in.

One of my favorite paper packs Sophia which is now discontinued.

The hidden journaling.  I love CTMH products because they all match which makes it quicker and simpler
.

My baby is now 4 years old!   Where did that time go?

I had a sticker but it got lost in the patterned paper so I matted it and pop-dotted it.    Perfect!   Also, the rule of thumb is always to do your embellishments in groups of 3 so I added my two buttons.

Love, Love, Love, This Paper Pack!

"Dotty For You" is the name of the upcoming Close To My Heart promotion to celebrate National Scrapbooking Month. Starting next week, April 17th through the entire month of May, you can get this fun paper pack for only $5 OR even for FREE.

This 24-pack of double-sided paper contains bold prints, bright colors, and LOTS of dots. "Dotty For You" is a great name for this pack since the back of each sheet has a complimentary color with a tiny dot pattern.   Included in the pack is a project idea sheet too.

There are three ways to get this fun promotional pack

1. Place a qualifying order (April 17th - May 31) on my website and add the "Dotty For You" paper packet for only $5.  You need to place a minimum of a $35.00 order of any product or products.  Or you can call me to place an order as well.

2. Host a Gathering (in home or online) with a sales total of $400 or more (before shipping & tax) and receive the "Dotty For You" paper packet for FREE.

3. Join my team as a new consultant between April 1 and May 31 and receive a "Dotty For You" paper packet FREE with your consultant kit.
Look for some examples in the next week or so as I start playing with the paper.    The patterns on these paper packs are all the rage in the scrapbooking world.   Everywhere you go you see butterflies, large circles and zig-zag patterns (I know there is a fancier word for that).      You will not be disappointed!!!!!!

Easter Again

The great thing about scrapbooking is that you can revisit moments again and again.   I am celebrating Easter all week long by doing Easter layouts.    Below I tried something new and used large circles in my layout.   I cut them out at 5" and 8" on my Cricut Art Philosophy Cartridge.    When I was done with the layout I felt something was missing.   I couldn't think of what to add so I went back to it the next day.   It then came to me - add buttons.   So.............as you can see I added many buttons that coordinated with the Lucy paper pack.   I feel it helped create  movement within my layout.    Since the left side of the page had a lot going on, I decided the right side should be simply stated.    The coordinating buttons and Lucy paper pack are all available on my website:   www.superscrapper.ctmh.com

Happy Easter
Following is a layout from our Close To My Heart's old level one paper packet.  It literally only took me about 40 minutes to do a 2-page layout.   It was from Easter 2009.    I am not a sequential scrapbooker by any means.  I look at a paper pack and then decide what pictures fit it.  I thought the bright colors screamed Easter.

Remember, if you are in any of my scrapbook clubs make a comment below the pictures and you will get a bingo square marked off.

Look for more posts to come!  Remember click on the picture to see a larger image of the layout.

Clips
I had fun making these clothespin clips for the Grafton Scrap Event held in March.   They were super easy to make and it used up all those small scraps that I save.   I mod-podged them on and then mod-podged over them to seal them.   The key is you must mod-podge it on and then over it, otherwise, your paper will buckle on you.  Afterwards, I used various embellishments and I was done!   These make great clips for snack bags, clips for bills to pay, and you can also put a magnet on the back and use it on your refrigerator.

I am busy crafting this week so I will try and set a personal goal of having one new post a day.
Enjoy!

Footloose Club

No, I'm not starting a Footloose club, but rather for scrapbook club I'm showing you the new Footloose paper pack.   Another winner of a paper pack!    This paperpack screams summer.   Don't we wish we had summer right now.    Well, since I have about 8 summers to scrapbook I can live in the memories of summer by using the Footloose paper pack.    For club, I will be demonstrating our new Baker's Twine which can be used for so many things.   I used them to embellish buttons as you will see further down.

For club we will be using:
3 - 4 x 4 pictures
1 - 4 x 6 vertical
2 - 4 x 6 horizontal

A close up of the left side page.  You will notice that I have a 1/2" border by my vertical picture.   That comes in the paper pack right on your 12 x 12 paper.  You just trim it off and use it however you'd like.    Three different styles per paper pack.  Love it!

A close up of the left side.  Again I am using the 1/2" border.

Lastly, a close up of the baker's twine that I used to embellish my buttons.    In addition, I used the Decor Journaling Spots.   If you know me well, I emphasize the importance of journaling your events.
